Support Group for the Separated and Divorced
WILL START ON THURSDAY, MARCH 6, 2014
2314 Third Avenue, Scottsbluff, NE
St. Agnes Catholic Church, Scottsbluff, NE will be starting its 4th Annual DivorceCare Group on March 6th, 2014. The DivorceCare Group will meet weekly on Thursdays (except for April 17th, Holy Thursday) for 7 weeks. Registration will be at 6:30 p.m. with meetings to start immediately thereafter. Meetings will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with a break in between with treats and refeshments.
Seminar Videos with Experts
We are in our 2nd year with up-dated DivorceCare materials with 27 experts, 47 new testimonial interviews, 8 compelling mini-dramas, pro-quality HD videos, and major improvements to the participants' workbooks. The first week will consist of introductions, going over the workbooks, what to expect in the up-coming seven weeks, along with the first video and discussion to follow. Thereafter, we will view two videos at each session with discussion to follow.
A Support Group with Focus
After viewing the video each week participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in the video seminar and what is going on in the lives of group members. Participants are welcome to begin attending on any week! Each session is “self-contained,” allowing new participants to view and past participants from years before to view sessions they may have missed or would like to view again. DivorceCare is like an Emergency Room (ER) allowing newly separated/divorced people to walk in any time during the 7 weeks and begin participating. DivorceCare is NONDENOMINATIONAL and features biblical teaching for those recovering from divorce and separation. In addition, for those participants who are Catholic, Fr. Vince Parsons, Pastor of St. Agnes Catholic Church, will present an additional Session on Annulment once the 7 weeks have concluded. This is for anyone interested in starting the annulment process.
Most people will tell you that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing time when you feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues you’ve never faced before. DivorceCare groups meet weekly to help people face these challenges and move toward rebuilding their lives. For more information about the group meetings go to St. Agnes’ Website Schedule and Registration pages for more details: a schedule of meeting dates, video topics, and a registration form.
We are extending an invitation to you or anyone who is either separated or divorced, that might find this group beneficial. Each participant joining the group will receive a workbook. There is a fee of $20.00 to join. For those who cannot afford the fee, we will have scholarships available.
